Step-by-Step Guide
Create your account
Visit the Signup page and register with your institutional email. Select your role (Student or Teacher) carefully — this determines your entire portal experience and cannot be changed without administrator intervention.
Verify your email
Check your inbox for a verification link sent immediately after signup. Click the link within 24 hours to activate your account. If you don't receive it, check your spam folder or use the 'Resend verification' option on the login page.
Wait for approval (Teachers only)
Teacher accounts require manual admin approval before gaining portal access. You'll see a 'Pending Approval' screen after login. Expect 1-2 business days for verification. Students skip this step and proceed directly.
Complete onboarding
On first login, you'll be guided through a multi-step onboarding wizard. For students, this includes admission number, class/section selection, commute mode, and parent/guardian contact details. For teachers, this includes staff ID, subject assignments, and department details. Complete all steps to unlock your full dashboard.
Explore your dashboard
Once onboarded, your personalized dashboard is active. Students see their academic overview, fee status, and recent notices. Teachers see their class roster, grade entry panels, and announcement tools. Use the left sidebar to navigate between modules.
Tips
- Bookmark your portal URL (/student/[username] or /teacher/[username]) for fast daily access.
- Enable browser notifications to receive instant alerts for new notices and fee due reminders.
Frequently Asked Questions
I signed up but can't log in. What's wrong?
Most login issues are caused by an unverified email. Check your inbox (including spam) for the verification link. If you're a teacher, your account may still be pending admin approval — check the waiting room screen after login.
Can I change my role after registration?
No — roles are set at registration and are locked for security. Contact your school administrator if you registered with the wrong role. They can delete and re-create your account with the correct role.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes — VidyaSchool is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Visit the Downloads page in the header navigation to get installation instructions for iOS and Android.
